Building Legacy through—and with—Time

Over 60 years ago in India, the first generation of Meghani entrepreneurs seized a business opportunity selling wristwatch bands to small stores. With an idea — and the tenacity to follow through — the foundation of the Meghani legacy was laid. When the third generation—siblings Amir and Shabeena Meghani—took over the business in the mid-2000s, we began working together to build BREDA and JBW, craft the story connecting the company’s past and future, and transform the enterprise into a culturally dynamic, people-driven organization.

After years of collaboration, I accepted the Meghani family’s offer to come in-house as Chief Brand Officer, forming the C-suite with Amir (CEO) and Shabeena (COO) and overseeing the daily management of the organization, its brands, and its teams.

We brought to life the company’s inherent—but until then untapped—badassness. We created a new visual and verbal expression for the company, while building internal structures, senior management teams, and refreshed headquarters rooted in clearly defined values and story.

Meghani continues to explore what’s new and next, fueled by a culture dedicated to understanding and participating in the lifestyles of its audiences—creating brands and products that speak confidently in their own voices within the often me-too world of fashion.
