Future Heritage from the Heart of Africa

Created by Rwandan designer Moses Turahirwa, Moshions was born from a desire to showcase contemporary African fashion deeply rooted in local cultural tradition. Moshions’ aesthetic draws from the intricate Rwandan art form Imigongo, characterized by geometric and spiral patterns associated with the ancestral spirit world.

During the 2020 pandemic, I lived in Kigali, Rwanda, and worked closely with Moses and his team to build the brand’s strategy and articulate its story, captured in the essence Future Heritage. The essence positions Moshions as a symbol of cultural connection and as a bridge between Rwanda’s rich history and its promising future.

The Moshions brand strategy and story emphasizes sustainability and generational wealth-building, rooted in Moshions’ role as a leading employer of local artisans and creative talent and its commitment to locally sourced materials.

The result is a brand built to honor heritage while shaping what comes next, confidently carrying Rwanda’s creative legacy into a contemporary global conversation.
